a messy, intense, politically-charged performance about HRT
Inspired by conversations over the past year with queer and trans women in Brazil and Jakarta, Emma explores attitudes to menopause alongside the liberation of her own body as a transgender woman.
It’s messy, it’s intense and it’s politically-charged.
Hearty is the fifth performance created as part of None of Us is Yet a Robot, a project reflecting on trans lives and the politics of transition.
Premiering at The Yard, 13 – 17 February 2017
Hearty is commissioned by The Yard and Kings College London, with support from BAC, Hall for Cornwall, The Spire and Arts Council England.
